How It Works

The Whisky

Whisky is collected from the seller before the auction begins and is stored in our secured warehouse until auction end.

For full details on how selling whisky with us works, please see the sell whisky page.

Registering To Bid

In order to bid or buy Whisky you must first register to bid. This registration process is necessary to provide protection against non-paying bidders.

To register simply click on the link at the top of the page labelled 'register to bid' and check-out with the shopping cart.

Bidding

Once registered and logged in you will have access to the auction pages where the bidding takes place.

The bid increment on all lots is £5, therefore only bids that are multiples of £5 will be accepted. For example, it is possible to bid £35 or £40 but not £37.

Automated bidding means that the highest bidder will remain £5 ahead of the next highest bid until their maximum bid is reached. This ensures that you will never pay more than you need to for a lot.

If you are outbid on a lot you will receive an email telling you that you have been outbid.

Some lots have a reserve below which the lot cannot be purchased.

The auction ends at 9pm on the final day, always a Sunday. To prevent sniping, the auction end time (for that item only) is automatically extended by 10 minutes if a bid is placed during the final 10 minutes of the auction.

Buying

When an auction ends if you are the winner an 'Add To Cart' button will appear on the auction page.

When you add the item to the cart it will remain in your shopping cart until you 'check out'. This enables you to combine postage on other lots before checkout and payment.

Once all the items that you have won are in your shopping cart you can proceed to check out to purchase your items.

For information on payment options please see the payment page.

Delivery

Worldwide delivery of whisky is available.

At the end of each auction, once payment has been received, the whisky is packaged for buyers and dispatched by courier. A tracking number will be emailed to buyers when the package is dispatched.

For more information on delivery options please see the delivery page.
